Proton Satria Neo R3 Lotus Racing SE 2010 Review


Proton Satria Neo R3 Lotus Racing special edition

Proton has unveiled Proton Satria Neo R3 Lotus Racing special edition that features a power upgrade and a new aerodynamics and styling package. R3 denotes the car’s status as a product of Proton’s R3 (Race Rally Research) motorsport division.


The Proton Satria Neo R3 Lotus Racing is powered by the standard 1.6 liter engine that you can find on the conventional Neo CPS coupled with a manual transmission that has been tuned to output 145 hp at 7,000 rpm and 168 Nm of torque at 5,000 rpm.

To get the extra power, the Proton Satria Neo R3 Lotus Racing comes with a re-programmed ECU, new camshafts, Titanium headers, a carbon fiber air intake with a K&N filter and a new exhaust system.

The extra power means the Proton Satria Neo R3 Lotus Racing has a top speed of 205 km/h and a 0 to 100 km/h acceleration time of 9.2 seconds. The Proton Satria Neo R3 Lotus Racing also comes with a custom suspension system and AP Racing brakes.

New bumpers, fenders, spoiler and carbon fiber bonnet

The new aerodynamics kit of the Proton Satria Neo R3 Lotus Racing includes a new carbon fiber bonnet, new front and rear bumpers, front fenders and a rear spoiler. As a result, this car is 62 kg lighter than the standard Neo CPS at 1150 kg.

The interior of the Proton Satria Neo R3 Lotus Racing features a leather and carbon fiber steering wheel, new Nappa leather seats, an aluminum gear knob and various other carbon accents.
