Jane Ng 黄明慧 One FM, Won Best Newcomer @ 4th Asian Film Awards 2010

Malaysian Jane Ng Meng Hui黄明慧 of One FM walked away with the Best Newcomer award at the 4th Asian Film Awards.

Acting as a rebellious 16-year-old student in At the End of Daybreak

The One FM deejay beat four other artistes from China, Hong Kong, Korea and India to receive the honour at the award-giving ceremony in Hong Kong on Monday.


Ng was commended for her role as a rebellious 16-year-old student in At the End of Daybreak, helmed by Malaysian popular director Ho Yu Hang.

Another artiste in the film, Kara Hui from Hong Kong, also won the Best Supporting Actress award while the Best Supporting Actor title went to Nicholas Tse of Bodyguards and Assassins.

Jane Ng 黄明慧 is better known among local Chinese radio listeners as “announcer Jane”.

She co-hosts, with Jeff Chin, a four-hour radio show called Morning Kaki from 6am to 10am on One FM, a relative newcomer to the local airwaves.

At the End of Daybreak’ opens on April 1 in Klang Valley Golden Screen Cinemas at 1 Utama shopping complex, Mid Valley Megamall and Pavilion KL.
