McDonald's USA Has Recalled 12 Million Shrek Drinking Cup Containing Cadmium

McDonald’s USA had no choice but to recall as much as 12 million Shrek themed drinking cups after founding out to contain cadmium which is a known carcinogen that can also cause bone softening and severely damage the kidneys.

It might be inferred that McDonald’s does not believe that either cancer, bone softening, or kidney damage are harmful to the consumer but thanks to McHeart, they have to recall the cups. The products comes in four different varieties of 16-ounce glasses that were sold for $2.00 each.

The cancer-inducing substance was found in the painted design of the Shrek characters found on the cups as they were being sold as part of a promotion for the latest Shrek movie, Shrek Forever After.

Despite the hiatus, Shrek Forever After roared its way to the top of the box office, making $71.3 million in its opening weekend topping their closest rival Sex In The City 2.
