Nike Football Write the Future Video Hits Youtube Record !!

Nike Football Write the Future featuring Rooney, Ronaldo and Drogba

I'm a self proclaimed Nike freak so as long as there's a Swoosh sign or their ever popular tagline "Just Do It". Last week, Nike Football released their latest campaign video for the upcoming  FiFa 2010 World Cup starring soccer superstars Didier Drogba, Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Cristiano Ronaldo Preparing to Take A Free Kick !

Nike's three-minute video "Write the Future" epic set a new record for most views of a viral video ad in its debut week, according to web video analytics company Visible Measures.

Tiger Woods in Nike video Earl and Tiger

It even beat the previous record holder, another Nike ad called "Earl and Tiger" featuring golfer Tiger Woods after his heavily publicized return to the sport.

"Earl and Tiger" reached 6.3 million views in its first week and "Write the Future" achieved 7.8 million. The fact that "Write the Future" beat "Earl and Tiger" is even more impressive considering the fact that the latter hit the web amidst the Tiger Woods scandal. The current count for this new video on YouTube is 10.1 million.

Nike Football, Write the Future. Is Rooney going down?

I've lost count on how many times watching the video. Seriously I'm addicted to it !! My favourite part is of course the Rooney's role. Damn funny I tell ya. The video's also features popular athletes from other sports such as Roger Federer and Kobe Bryant.

Nike World Cup Football Jersey Made of Recycled Plastic Bottles

Launching of Nike Eco-Green 2010 World Cup Jersey

For this summer’s World Cup 2010 in South Africa, Nike has introduced what they’re touting as the most environmentally friendly soccer uniforms ever to grace the pitch. The shirts will be worn by all nine Nike-sponsored teams, including England, Brazil, Portugal, and the Netherlands.

8 Recycled Bottle = 1 Football Shirt by Nike

In less than 100 days, 32 countries will battle throughout nine South African cities for the right to earn soccer’s most prestigious trophy. Nine of those squads will be outfitted with Nike jerseys made from recycled polyester.

Sneak peek !!

Nike's bottles-to-T-shirts operation is fairly straightforward. Recycled polyester comes from Japanese and Taiwanese suppliers that cuts up, melts, and spins plastic bottles into a yarn for the shirts. Each shirt will consist of 100% recycled polyester and approximately 8 plastic bottles.

The only way to remove the jersey from the bottle

The shirts are slightly more expensive to produce than standard jerseys, but Nike claims that the costs ultimately even out because less material is needed for production. And on the outside, players and fans won't be able to tell the difference between the bottle-filled jerseys and the regular polyester shirts worn by non-Nike teams aka Puma and Adidas.

Such a brilliant idea as you cant take it off from the orifice

With this green jersey effort, Nike prevented nearly 13 million plastic bottle from entering global landfills. And besides being good for the environmental, the new threads are designed to keep players drier and help them maintain their optimum core temperature while running around the field for 90 minutes a game (assuming there’s no extra time).

Feels and looks like the current Nike jerseys but this is totally a new concept !!

The sides of each jersey have ventilation zones that comprise as many as 200 miniscule holes to allow air circulation, and the tighter-fitting jerseys are optimized to be more aerodynamic, stretching 10 percent more than previous uniforms.

NIASCIDO PARA JOGAR FUTBOL aka BORN TO PLAY FOOTBALL

Improved Nike Dri-Fit fabric, now 15 percent lighter than previous Nike kit fabrications, helps keep players dry by drawing sweat to the outside of the garment where it evaporates.

Nike Swoosh logo made of plastic bottle.Cool idea !!

To date, Nike isn't the only company to manufacture shirts out of plastic bottles. Coca-Cola's Drink2Wear shirts are also made out of recycled bottles, and Patagonia started manufacturing fleece out of post-consumer bottles in 1993 with little fanfare.

The 9 Nike teams and a Pendrive containing info and press release

But by featuring the technology at sporting events watched by millions, Nike is letting the world know that the technology is worth our attention.

Awesome Brazil 2010 NIke Home Jersey

Each of these environmental friendly jersey aka Nike World Cup 2010 jersey in a plastic bottle is priced at RM259(Malaysia)$70(US) and £50(UK) in Nike and all major sporting goods outlets.

Nike Football, Write History

*In case you are wondering why Umbro and England was included in the photoshoot among the all Nike jersey line-up ?? It's because Nike bought over the English kit maker in 2007 in a deal worth £285m ($580m)*

Roger Federer Wins 2010 Australian Open,16th Grand Slam Title

The champ, Roger Federer as Andy Murray playing second fiddle to him once again.

As expected, Roger Federer had clinched his fourth Australian Open title of his career this year and his never-ending Grand Slam record goes on, currently stands at 16 titles in total. His opponent was none other than Andy Murray of UK,Great Britain. The match ended 6-3, 6-4, 7-6 (11).

It was a joy for Roger Federer who won his first Grand Slam as a father to twin daughters, second to do so after Andre Agassi in 2003. And agony for Murray as he was riding the hopes of a British public, most of whom have only read about the last British man to win a singles title in a Grand Slam - Fred Perry in 1936.

Murray celebrating on a point but Federer had the last laugh

It was quite a straight forward match for Roger as he raced to 2 sets up in a relaxed fashion, only to struggle a little in the 3rd set. Murray broke Federer's serve as early as in the 3rd game of the set.

Federer rallied from 5-2 down in the third to force the tiebreaker and, after saving three set points, missed his first chance to finish it off when his forehand just missed the line.

Federer won the lengthy third-set tiebreaker on his third match point after fending off five set points for Murray. He clinched the match in 2 hours, 41 minutes when Murray netted a backhand.

Roger Federer, The Swiss Maestro and No.1 Tennis Player

It was Federer's 22nd Grand Slam final, where he's won a record 16. Federer has appeared in 18 of the past 19 Grand Slam finals only to lose to Rafael Nadal (5 times) and Juan Martin Del Potro in those occasions. What a staggering record !!

p/s- After watching some of Federer's matches in the past 2 weeks, I noticed one thing that made him so special, his Nike apparels !! if you compare the colour of his sports tee and the tennis court background, you can see that both are similar. Going stealth and confusing his opponents perhaps? Great colour choice by him. Well done !!

Of Cristiano Ronaldo Breaking Opponent's Nose

Yups, you read it right. Cristiano Ronaldo has gone from good to bad. After his $80million world record transfer from Manchester United to Real Madrid, things hasn't been going well for him. The fact is he was branded a flop by Real's fanatic supporters. True enough, he couldn't take it and lashed his anger to Patrick Mtiliga of Malaga and struck him in the face which costed his nose.

Yet, Mr.Ronaldo doesn't admit his mistake and branded the referee's decision as a disgrace by rewarding him a red card in the 70th minute ! The incident happened when Patrick was chasing after Cristiano, who was then raises his arm and catches Patrick at his nose when he was trying to spin away from him.

Ronaldo ended a three game scoring drought in the 35th minute when Karim Benzema played the ball to Kaka, who crossed to the Portuguese winger to slot the ball home from close range. Ronaldo then scored his ninth goal of the season four minutes later, firing the ball into the roof of the net after being put through by Jose Maria "Guti" Gutierrez.

It was Ronaldo's second red card for Real Madrid after being sent off in a league match against Almeria last month.

In another not-so-related news, Wayne Rooney had shot Manchester United to the peak of the Barclays Premier League by scoring a rare 4 goals in a match against Hull City. He scored in first half and then a 3 goals blitz in the last 10 minutes of the game.

The Red Devils barely caught into much trouble as they controlled possession for most the game. Back four looked solid for them as Rio Ferdinand was back from a niggling injury. Hopefully the streak on scoring bundle of goals and winning the match continues to the end of the season.

Danny Welbeck Scored !! Man United Won !!

Manchester United won 1-0 against Wolverhampton Wanderers in Carling League Cup match at Old Trafford. As usual, the Man United controlled possession from the first whistle blow. In the process, Fabio was red carded but it was the nicely set up goal that did the damage. Danny Welbeck played a neat one-two with Michael Owen. Wolves' defenders caught napping and paved way for Danny Welbeck to sneaked in for the finisher. Here the Danny Welbeck scoring goal video.

Super Late Winner From Michael Owen.

Substitute Michael Owen netted a dramatic injury-time winner as Manchester United beat Manchester City 4-3 in a pulsating Manchester derby at Old Trafford.

Michael Owen replaced Dimitar Berbatov on 78 minutes and struck with a typically cool finish in the sixth minute of injury time to settle a thrilling match in which City had three times come from behindCraig Bellamy thought he had snatched all three points at the death when he netted his second of the game in the 90th minute, but Owen ensured he will go down in United folklore with an even later strike.
Wayne Rooney had given United the perfect start with the opener after just two minutes only for City to reply through Gareth Barry soon after. A Darren Fletcher brace in the second half twice restored United's lead with Bellamy notching his first of the day in between.

GLORY GLORY, MANCHESTER UNITED !!

Manchester United New Away Kit 09/10

Manchester United had just released a new Away Kit just within a month before the new 09/10 Barclays Premier League kick-off !! Well, it is of similar blueprint of the Home Kit "V" chested jersey. This time its a full black base and the "V" shaped is blue in color and of course the Manchester United badge on the left and Nike Swoosh logo on the right. I think it does look elegant on the players and the fans themselves.

The exact same one like the red kit.

So, do place your orders for the new kit and the launch day is on 13th August 2009. I think it's worth getting both Home and Away Kits if you dont own any of those. I hope they are using this new kit for the ongoing Audi Cup 2009.

It does look great on Manchester United players and Blue and Black are my favourite colors !!
