All American Rejects KL Concert Was A Blast !!

All American Rejects Concert !!

It was Halloween Night, and all fans had already crowded National Stadium Bukit Jalil's Carpark A for a great time at Digi Live Music concert !! Decked out in their spookiest costumes, the fans were so eagerly waiting to watch the All American Rejects perform !!

The concert began with Disagree, Pop Shuvit and One Buck Short as the opening ad. Sam (Bunkface), Liyana (Estrella), Eddie (Gerhana Ska Cinta), Shahrul (Love Me Butch) and JD Wong (Pop Shuvit) was there performing too.

Everyone was in a mad frenzy when AAR stepped on the stage !! It was probably a good thing the on-and-off drizzle had stopped by then to not cause any unfortunate slippage ,not that it deterred the thousands of youths who completely let loose by dancing and screaming wildly.

True to Halloween tradition, lead vocalist and bassist Tyson Ritter donned a Native American head piece and pointed out unique costumes in the crowd between songs.

Right after ending the song Fallin’ Apart, Tyson and guitarists Nick Wheeler and Mike Kennerty, and drummer Chris Gaylor tore into Dirty Little Secret, working the young crowd up into frenzied excitement.

They kept the crowd excited with some of their tunes like Swing Swing, My Paper Heart, and I Wanna. Tyson Ritter got down from the stage and sang Mona Lisa together with his fans !! Oh my gosh !!

The night ended when the All American Rejects performed an encore of their highly acclaimed single "Gives You Hell"

Entice or enticing, such a strong word in a negative perspective isn't it ? Especially when it involves a high profile Malaysian celebrity, Daphne Iking. For further understanding, the meaning of entice or enticing is equivalent to seducing, tempting or put it simply in Malay, cubaan untuk menggoda. *december latest update-court trial*

As reported in Malaysian news, the husband of celebrity TV presenter Daphne Iking or Daphne Eleanor Iking is accusing a corporate figure of “enticing” his wife. Who is the corporate figure ?


Darren Choy Kin Ming, the MD for Adidas Malaysia was tried in court for keeping Daphne Iking away from her husband. Daphne’s husband has dragged the managing director to court under Section 498 of the Penal Code for “enticing or taking away or detaining with a criminal intent a married woman.”


The appearance of two other lawyers, Ravi Nekoo and Pushpa Ratnam representing Daphne Iking, took the court by surprise when the former told magistrate Mohd Faizi Che Abu that they were there to hold a watching brief for Iking and may file to ask questions later.


Even before the hearing began, things got heated with lawyers from both sides at loggerheads over an application to adjourn the trial. At one point, they even got into a shouting match.


Choy’s lead counsel Jagjit Singh sought for an adjournment saying he was recovering from a recent heart ailment and needed more time to study the documents which he had been receiving in stages.


Jagjit tendered medical certificates to the court to prove that he was medically unfit to proceed. He told the court that the documents he received included the marriage certificate, passport copies, e-mails and invoices.


To a question by the magistrate, Pushpa said she would make a formal application to challenge the summons and the constitutionality of Section 498.


“It is archaic and no longer has a place in society. It is a total affront to women to suggest that we can be so easily enticed and so stupid enough to be enticed,” she said.


Mohd Faizi adjourned the case to today and said he would deal with Pushpa’s application when a formal application was submitted to court. Jagjit, he added, could cross-examine in October if he felt unwell today


Iking got married on Jan 27, 2007 in Bali, and gave birth to Isobel, who is now 21 months old. Iking is a TV presenter, host and brand ambassador.

It must be that sense of deja vu. Financially wise I'm kinda tight lately, all I could do is drool on this Manchester United jersey whenever I stumbled upon it at any sports outlet. It would be great to add this jersey to my Manchester United's merchandise collection. And of course to show it off whenever my team is winning !! Glory Glory Man United !!

As a Manchester United fan, my lifetime dream would be having an opportunity to visit Old Trafford, home to the most famous football club in the world ! 

I would really love to upgrade my dimwit digital camera to this super awesome Nikon D90 DSLR camera. It would be my perfect companion for some photography session. Pictures quality wise are crisps clear !!

Of course the most realistic treat that I can afford still, is a cup of iced cold Starbucks Chocolate Cream Frappuccino. Having a sip is a bliss and its so addictive, paired together with a slice of cheese cake,ooo, H.E.A.V.E.N !! arggh !! I'm already craving for it..

And lastly, a Dell Inspiron 13 in Cherry Red, my favourite colour ! Why red ? Because it is synonymous with "luck" in Chinese saying, "Hong" in  Cantonese/Mandarin and "Ang" in Hokkien. Owning one will definitely bring me luck and prosperity throughout my daily life.

Bridgestone Quitting F1

Bridgestone to quit F1 late of 2010 season

The axe has dropped on yet another historical company of Japan. This time is Bridgestone following the footsteps of Honda quitting F1. Bridgestone has announced it will withdraw from Formula One at the end of next season, after opting not to renew the company's official tyre supply deal with the sport.

Bridgestone Corp said Monday it would stop supplying tyres to Formula One late next year after its main rivals Michelin of France and US maker Goodyear withdrew from the sport years earlier. The Japanese manufacturer has been the sole supplier of tyres to Formula One since 2007, and in 2008 signed a three-year deal to become F1's official tyre supplier.


Officially, Bridgestone are saying that the decision not to renew was as a result of the company redirect resources towards “intensive development of innovative technologies and strategic products”, but the effect of the worldwide recession that has hit since 2008 cannot be entirely dismissed either.


Japanese carmakers since the start of the worldwide economic slump have been cutting production and thousands of jobs as consumer demand has plummeted and a strong yen has eroded overseas earnings.


Toyota has backed off from hosting Fuji Speedway Grand Prix. Subaru had also pulled off from the World rally Championship despite winning quite a number of titles. Mitsubishi followed suit by not contesting in the Dakar Rally in early February this year.

Yasmin Ahmad Won 2009 Kancil Awards

Great achievement by Yasmin Ahmad who scooped up Advertiser of the Year 2009, Kancil Award


Even though she had just left us recently, Yasmin Ahmad will always be recognized for her great work and achievement that had touched hearts of  people worldwide. This has proven again when she won one of the two categories of 2009 Kancil Awards for her TV Commercial titled "Funeral".


The three-minute film, commissioned by the Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports Singapore (MCYS) to promote marriage, clinched the Golden Kancil in the film category at Malaysia’s premier advertising awards show.


It shows a woman played by Jo Kukathas addressing the people at her husband’s funeral, saying that she hoped her three children would also find life partners who were as “beautifully imperfect” as her husband was.


Leo Burnett/Arc Worldwide Malaysia chief executive officer Tan Kien Eng said the viewership of the ad on YouTube was 2.5 million so far and that Yasmin was the one who crafted the script and directed the commercial.


“I would say that Yasmin’s style has created a benchmark for the industry, even as far back as 15 years ago. I would say that it is about humanity; it is not about winning an award. It is about touching and engaging people,” he explained.


Leo Burnett also grabbed the Agency of the Year award. Besides the Golden Kancil, it racked up a gold, two silvers and seven bronzes at the ceremony organised by the Association of Accredited Advertising Agents Malaysia.
